Dxing the world from Newfoundland Canada ,

Welcome, My name is Allen Willie, involved in radio listening (Dxing) for the past 38 years. The following pages include some of the QSL cards I have received from stations around the world and also complete listings of all stations and countries heard on all the different radio bands from Ham to Shortwave and also AM and FM. I began my hobby in 1968 living in the province of Alberta up until September 2002, then moving here to St. John's , Newfoundland.

It all began for me on June 17, 1968 when I logged my first long distance station,

KMON 560 khz -Great Falls, Montana USA

Since that time I have logged approximately 1000 stations on AM, 600 on FM and many on Shortwave from over 400 countries and remote islands

As of March 1 , 2006 with hearing J5UAP from Guinea-Bissau on the ham bands I have now heard a radio transmission from every country on earth

Chasing the DX

It is truly a privelege to live near the location (Signal Hill ) where radio had it's beginnings with Guglielmo Marconi ( click name for more information ) receiving the first transatlantic wireless signal from England, December 12, 1901

My equipment over the years have included three main receivers, an RCA all band receiver (photo ) of the 50's, the DX-300 from Radio Shack (photo ) and currently the FRG-100 (photo) from Yaesu, as well as other table radios to begin with like many other people who discover this hobby.

Current antenna in use is a 50 foot longwire. Hoping soon to join the ham community also.

-----If you are interested in the hobby of radio DXing I would like to hear from you with your comments to share also. Please feel free to e-mail me at VO1001SWL@hotmail.com
